Claire and Fez were married in Leicester Guildhall, a stunning building and one of the best preserved timber framed halls in the country, dating back 600 years.
The Great Hall itself was built in about 1390 as a meeting place for the Guild of Corpus Christi (a small but powerful group of businessman and gentry). Over the years it has had many uses, including housing one of the oldest public libraries and serving as the Town Hall. After restoration, the Guildhall was opened to the public as a museum in 1926. The Guildhall is available for private hire and is a historic and atmospheric venue for weddings, civil ceremonies, renewing wedding vows and naming ceremonies. (source Visit Leicester)
The reception was held at Leicesters City Rooms, a short walk from the Guildhall.
Fez is the Drummer in Leicester Ska Band The Splitters who kicked off the evening celebrations with a live set. (Head over to their bandcamp page and have a listen, they’re good).
The party carried on well into the early hours and I’m sure there were a few sore heads the day after ?. It was a lovely day and a fantastic way to celebrate their wedding, Congratulations Claire & Fez.
