The wedding ceremony was held in The offices of The Mairie in Les Houches (The Town Hall) and then the wedding party headed back to the beautiful Chalet Maison Jaune for the reception. The Chalet is surrounded by breathtaking views of the snow covered French Alps and in season is a ski in, ski out Chalet.
Gaz proposed in Les Houches so it holds special memories for them, Kerry and Gaz were on a trip with some of their family to celebrate Kerry’s mums birthday and Gaz had arranged it all in secret so everyone except for Kerry knew what he was going to do, it was all very romantic and when they were in the gorgeous restaurant gardens with the stunning scenery of the mountains as a backdrop he pulled out a ring and popped the question.
I arrived at the Chalet the day before the wedding which gave me a chance to get to know everyone better, explore the area and take a few detail shots of the rings and the venue.
The weather was stunning the day before, glorious sunshine and beautiful views of the French Alps. On the day of their wedding it rained from the moment everyone woke up until the end of the day with absolutely no let up. The rain was so heavy and the mist so low you couldn’t even see the mountains. I remember asking Kerry if she was disappointed because of the weather and she just smiled and said “I’d rather be getting married in the rain in the French Alps than in the rain in the UK” The weather is something that no one can control so as long as you decide to enjoy yourself you will.
No matter how hard the rain, everyone was there to share the celebration with Kerry and Gaz and had a fabulous day.
And the day after? Of course, the sun shone again ?
